There’s a local pub, which is near my work, which I like to visit during my breaks, however it has come to my attention that even though I have been going in there for about 3 weeks, every day around the same time that I still feel like a outsider. Has it become so normal to treat everyone you meet without at least 3 written references or a personal introduction by a close friend as a hostile/weirdo. I’m not saying they should welcome me in with open arms, chanting my name (it would be nice though), just a simple hello and not a look of strange ‘who are you?’
As I think of it more, I believe that it’s the old ‘why are you in a pub on your own in the middle of the day’ question that everybody ask when you seem them in the pub, i.e. they must have a story to how/why and more importantly “who”. Our society gives answers to everything, even questions they don’t understand, so when a object of interested, in this case man in pub on his own, we want to know more, but we live in a time of fear so, sadly we don’t dare ask.

I don’t agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. - Voltaire
Beside the sniggering mass of what has been know to use as the government, the media has taken a massive blow, not that Graham Norton has been kicked off TV (hopefully for good) but that the news of the world is being sued by none other than Vanessa Feltz, yes that’s right the only thing to any me more than stubbing my toe. Apparently the news of the world has ‘hacked’ in to ‘famous’ peoples answering machines, there are two problems there, one, they didn’t hack they simple entered the default code, which is their own stupid fault. Two, most of the people were boring bastards anyway, who would really want to listen to Alan Shearer on the phone for hours probably talking about all the good things that he has done at Newcastle United, its hard enough to watch him on MOTD without being bored in to a coma.
Talking about football all this money flowing, people are moaning that players are going for way too much money, but the fact is the club is a business and they have that money through good business. You don’t see people going up to Microsoft saying ‘you can’t spend that much on this company, there must be a limit’, how would that work anyway. Instead of moaning, Mr. Average premier league manger, talk to your owners at the club or shut up, lets face it if you were in Mark Hughes position at man city you wouldn’t be complaining.
On a final note on football transfers, if there was a limit, the money would just go simply on additional bonuses and players wages, also the idea of a ‘long term’ contract would go even more down the shitter as players would not like to be stuck at a club where the money to buy him out would be over the set limit.
I never really understood the reasons behind people ‘blogging’, until I found myself in a temp job. Sitting at my computer day after day pretending to do more work than I actually have, this is not that I am lazy, well I am a bit, but simply the fact that I complete all the work that they set me too quickly, thus I feel that I shouldn’t have to do any more work than I am being paid for. This might seem mean towards the company, costing them ‘valuable’ money and all, however i work at a university in the distance learning section and have seen HOW MUCH they charge a student, who doesn’t even have to be taught in a classroom, to be able to take one of their classes online. So for that reason I really don’t feel guilty at all.
